Master artisan threading brass bells onto silk cord

Each bell, struck and tuned by ear.

In a small workshop in Swamimalai, three generations of bell-smiths cast, file, and tune every brass ghunghroo by hand. The cord is braided in maroon silk; the knot is one our grandfather taught us. There is no machine. There is no shortcut.

What you wear is not a product. It is a quiet inheritance.

Smt. Lakshmi Nair · Mohiniyattam guru, Trivandrum
"The Maharani arrived in a hand-painted box. It felt like receiving an heirloom, not a purchase."
Anjali Rao · Kuchipudi performer, Hyderabad
